Basic performance of cable supports

High Strength and Good Designability
Continuous fiber reinforced thermosetting composites are mainly composed of reinforcing glass fibers and thermosetting resins that act as binders and transfer loads. Glass fibers have very high tensile strength (3450 MPa), and their content, length, and laying method determine the strength of the support product. The strength of thermosetting glass fiber reinforced composites can range from 30-1000 MPa. Therefore, we design the amount, length, and laying method of glass fibers based on the product's stress conditions, production volume, manufacturing process, and affordability.

 

No Creep
The rigidity of continuous fiber reinforced thermosetting composite supports is twice that of fiber-reinforced nylon supports produced by a certain American company. Even under long-term loads, they do not deform and will not tilt downwards like metal cable supports used in some subway systems in China.

 

Fire Resistance
The oxygen index is an important testing method for evaluating fire-resistant cable products. The oxygen index refers to the fire resistance of a product under maximum oxygen conditions. Its application in engineering should be determined based on the combustion intensity. For example, under conditions of 30 cables, if a cable ignition accident occurs, a high-temperature heat accumulation of over 500 degrees Celsius can form within 4 minutes, causing the fire to spread along the cable's direction. The more cables in a densely packed area, the greater the mass of combustible material. With 30 cables, the mass of combustible material per unit length is 20.5 kg/m. Now, calculating with 300 cables, the mass of combustible material per unit length is 158 kg/m. Based on the maximum possible combustion intensity, the oxygen index must be no less than 65%. We believe that setting the oxygen index at 70% in the product's fire protection standard is appropriate.

 

Based on usage requirements, the composite material cable support we developed has an oxygen index greater than or equal to 70%, meeting the safety requirements of fire resistance, low smoke, halogen-free, and non-toxic. Fire resistance exceeds the "Technical Specifications for Fiberglass Plastic Cable Trays for Underground Railways in Taiwan" (oxygen index of 52%), and is also significantly higher than that of a certain American company's reinforced thermoplastic support. This performance is no less than the fire resistance standards for composite materials used in new trains of the Hong Kong MTR, certified by BS in the UK.

 

Corrosion Resistance: Continuous fiber reinforced thermosetting composite material supports are corrosion resistant, making them particularly suitable for use in humid, salt spray, acidic, and weakly alkaline environments.

 

Electrical Insulation: Insulation performance can be adjusted according to application requirements. Electrically insulating type: insulation resistance greater than 1000 GΩ; Antistatic type: surface resistance less than 10 GΩ.

 

Ease of Use: The product is pre-embedded in the wall for accurate and secure installation, making construction very convenient.
